The Le Sode di Sant'Angelo estate is located between the metalliferous hills of Grosseto and the Tyrrhenian coast of Follonica, in the vibrant heart of pristine Maremma Tuscany.
Out of the total 40 hectares, 6 are dedicated to viticulture, 4 to olive groves, and the remaining land is divided among woodlands and various types of crops.
A small production, yet of extremely high quality, is the result of Luca Purgatorio's dream, the winemaker, to produce authentic wines deeply connected to the territory and in harmony with the environment that hosts the estate.
Enhancing native grape varieties that express their potential to the fullest has been a priority from the very beginning. Tuscan Vermentino, Sangiovese, and Grenache Alicante are the most cultivated varieties, joined by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Viognier, international varieties that have always shown great quality in Maremma.
The "Sodo" soil, rich in gypsum and many other minerals in Tuscan dialect, along with constant sea breezes from the nearby coastal region, allows for the creation of unique conditions for viticulture.
